How would you describe yourself?
Purpose driven with a passion for people and supporting teams to be successful. I am very persistent and competitive but balance this with being open minded and inclusive. I really enjoy team sports whether watching or participating, participation being quite limited now! I also enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family.
What interests you about your role and Eliot Partnership?
Supporting the continued growth of the company with a specific emphasis on the global life and health sector is very exciting. I am passionate about the sector and look forward to sharing my experiences and relationships gained from 40 years working across reinsurance and insurance both in the UK and internationally. The global approach and focus on ‘shared excellence’ at Eliot Partnership really resonates with me as does the strong desire to form long term client relationships.
What did you want to be when you were younger?
A professional footballer.
What is your biggest asset?
My long standing network of colleagues and friends.
Peter has extensive leadership experience across a broad range of insurance businesses both in the UK and overseas. He led the UK business of Swiss Re as CEO during the pandemic, serving as senior function holder from a regulatory perspective, Country President and Branch Manager. He was a member of the Swiss Re Europe Management committee and specifically responsible for the Life and health business of Swiss Re UK for over a decade and a member of their Global life leadership team. He has also spent time with GE,  has worked in the direct insurance market with Prudential and spent time in Italy supporting a start up life operation. Peter was also integral to the management of Global accounts at Swiss Re, including strategic positioning and regular senior contact.
Peter describes himself as a sport addict. He also enjoys travelling and spending days in the countryside.
