Zachary Jensen

How would you describe yourself?

I am curious, collaborative and highly analytical. I enjoy taking on complex or ambiguous projects, finding the most important information and turning it into a clear and practical direction. I am naturally inquisitive, enjoy learning how businesses and industries work, and value building strong relationships with the people around me.

What interests you about your role and Eliot Partnership?

I am excited by the opportunity to build and develop the research and knowledge-management capability for Eliot Partnership in North America. The role brings together several things I enjoy: understanding markets, developing thoughtful search strategies, identifying exceptional talent, and creating scalable tools and processes that will help us serve as true advisors to our clients.

Eliot’s specialization in insurance is particularly interesting because it offers the opportunity to develop genuine industry expertise as opposed to the “jack of all trades” strategy of generalist search firms. I was also attracted to the entrepreneurial nature of the North American business and the chance to help shape how the team grows, collaborates, and delivers for clients.

What are your passions / hobbies?

Most of my time is spent with my wife and two young children, exploring all the natural beauty the Pacific Northwest has to offer. When we are not out and about, I absolutely love cooking and hosting friends and family. As for my intellectual passions, I am very interested in cosmology, history, and researching any obscure topic I happen to come across. My thirst for knowledge knows no bounds!

What is your biggest asset?

My biggest asset is my ability to create clarity from complexity. I can quickly absorb a large amount of unfamiliar information, recognize the patterns and details that matter, and translate them into a focused plan that others can use. That has been particularly valuable in executive search, where every assignment involves a different business, market, and leadership challenge.

What gives you meaning at work?

I find meaning in helping other people do their best work. That may involve uncovering a candidate who changes the direction of a search, giving a colleague better information to make a decision, improving a process, or building a resource that makes the whole team more effective. I enjoy work where research is not just an output, but something that directly influences decisions and outcomes.

Zach supports the North American team through search strategy, market intelligence, candidate identification, and knowledge management. He also helps develop the tools, processes, and resources that support consistent, high-quality search execution.

Previously, Zach spent more than a decade at a generalist boutique search firm, most recently as Director, Research & Knowledge Management. There, he led the research function, managed a team supporting C-suite and senior executive assignments, and partnered with consultants across a broad range of industries and functions. He also helped strengthen the firm’s use of analytics, technology, and knowledge-sharing.

Earlier in his career, he held leadership and operational roles in healthcare staffing and EdTech procurement, which gave him a practical foundation in team management, client service, and business operations.
